Brief Overview And Experience

The Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira was born on 8th February 1950 in Rubira village, Rushoroza Parish. He was ordained a priest on Pentecost Sunday 18th May 1975 at Rushoroza Parish.

He was appointed Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kabale in Uganda by Pope John Paul II on March 18, 2003 and ordained and installed as Bishop of Kabale Diocese on Pentecost Sunday 8th June, 2003 at Rushoroza. He is the fourth appointed Shepherd after Bishops Gervasius Nkalanga, Barnabas Halem’Imana and Robert Mary Gay of the Missionaries of Africa.
