Arthur Ahimbisibwe (PhD) is a distinguished professor, consultant, and accomplished academician with a professional and ethical record in Management. Prof. Ahimbisibwe holds a PhD in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, Master of Science in Procurement and Supply Chain Management with a distinction from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, and a First-Class Degree in Bachelor of Business Administration specialising in Procurement and Supply Chain Management also from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. Working Experience

Professor Arthur Ahimbisibwe (PhD) has over seventeen (17) years of teaching experience in universities, of which six (06) years have been spent in senior management positions. He has served in various managerial positions as a Dean of School of Postgraduate Studies, Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics (DVCA), Ag. Vice Chancellor (VC) and Academic Regisrar (AR). He has promoted learning in a competitive environment.

1. Professor/Academic Registrar, Victoria University, Victoria Towers, 1-13 Jinja Road, Kampala PO Box 30866

Main Duties:

  • Providing leadership and overall management to the Academic Registrar’s office.
  • Coordinating all academic matters, admissions, registration of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the students’ record system for managing admissions, enrollment, registration assessment, progress and graduation.
  • Ensure that relevant, accurate and detailed student data to support university’s decision making.
  • Ensure coordination and management of all university examination processes, research, regulations, syllabi and staff development.
  • Secretary to Senate and its subcommittees and advisor on academic regulations and programmes.
  • Custodian of student’s records including minutes of senate.
  • Ensure production of academic transcripts and certificates.
  • Ensure that academic ceremonies such as graduation are successfully organised.
  • Be responsible for collaborative linkages with other institutions and organizations.

Outbreak of Corona Virus led to the uncertain closure of the university and I had to return back home in Uganda.

Main duties:

  • Deputising and assisting the Vice-Chancellor in the performance of his functions related to the academic affairs of the University.
  • Advising the Vice-Chancellor on policy matters relating to academic staff, students and academic programmes.
  • Leading and overseeing the establishment of systems and processes for planning, development and review of academic programmes of the University.
  • Supervising the Deans, Directors, HoDs, senior academics, etc., and in this regard, ensure proper implementation of curricula in all Colleges and Schools of the University.
  • Coordinating, in conjunction with Schools, Faculties, Departments, and Human Resource office the system of staff recruitment, appraisal, retention, identifying staff development and promotion needs and making relevant recommendations.
  • Ensuring maximum compliance in the setting and marking of all examinations in accordance with the University academic policies and guidelines.
  • Promoting partnerships and networks for academic growth and transformation of the University.
  • Performing any other function as may be assigned by the VC.

I possess superior and unique skills in ICT applications. I have advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suit applications like Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as internet, Zoom, Skype, etc. I’m also very familiar with other many advanced software packages for research and data analysis such as the Statistical Package for the Social Scientists (SPSS), Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM).
