Brief Overview And Experience

Mr. Peter Busiku is an advocate at the High Court of Uganda and in the Courts subordinate thereto Constituted under the Magistrates Court Act, Commissioner for Oaths/Partner at Angualia Busiku & Company Advocates located in Kampala, Uganda on Parliamentary Avenue, Raja Chambers Plot 3, and 2ndFloor Suite F.2 048/049.

Mr. Peter Busiku holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Makerere University, Kampala wherein for his LLM thesis, he submitted a thesis entitled; “An analysis on the Law and Practice of Ratification of Treaties in Uganda (2010)”. He also  holds an Executive MBA from East and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) wherein for his MBA thesis he submitted a thesis entitled: “Effect of Monetary  Control Polices  on Businesses: A case study of small and medium sized  Enterprise in Kampala. Mr. Busiku has attended various certification programs where he attained professional training and experience in upholding the rule of law, intellectual property and strategic leadership and management.

He studied at Makerere University where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and later did a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Law Development Centre. Mr. Busiku is also an accomplished Journalist by profession wherein he qualified with BA (Hons) from Makerere University (1996) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Media Management and Journalism from Uganda Management Institute. In addition to membership in the legal professional bodies like Uganda law Society and East Africa Law Society, Mr. Busiku is also a member of the Uganda Journalist Association.

Mr. Busiku previously worked for Kampala University as its Legal and Public Relations Manager wherein he advised the University on all Public relations matters affecting it; served as a member of the University council. I have worked for 20 years in the Parliamentary Service. For the 20 years I have worked in the Cooperate affairs, Parliamentary and Legislative affairs Department.

Before co-founding the law firm of Angualia Busiku & Co. Advocates, Mr. Busiku also worked with Mukiibi, Kawooya, Onyango& Co. Advocates as a Legal Consultant / Legislative Counsel. Mr. Busiku did a lot of consultancies in the area of media and mass communication law, legislative drafting, Intellectual property law, real estate law and conveyance, law torts, good governance, democratization, policy analysis, judicial review and access to justice, public interest litigation, human rights-civil and political, socio-economic rights, children’s rights and the rights of indigenous and marginalized communities. Mr. Busiku is also responsible for the public relations affairs and quality assurance at the law firm.
