He is a Head of Department in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Karamoja Peace And Technology University. A highly energetic and customer focused informational technology professional with over twenty years progressive experience in telecommunication. Proficiency in data communication and system integration. Expert in understanding and delivering business concepts and projects within a specified time limit.

Experience

Country Representative, SITA (Air transport communication & IT solutions), Kampala, 2010 – 2020.

Responsibilities:

  • Managed two core business modules: Airports and Town.
  • Built business partnership with domestic third parties and foreign entities.
  • Meeting clients, understanding their requirements and design the most appropriate technology to use.
  • Assigning work to members of the team and any other parties involved.
  • Point of contact for installation and troubleshooting of very small satellite communication system.

Part time Lecturer, Electrical Engineering department, Kyambogo University, Kampala. 2007–2011.

Responsibilities:

  • Presenting lectures (communication system, transmission and switching) to bachelor of telecommunication fourth year students.
  • Designing, Coordinating and supervising projects for fourth year students.

Interim Board Member, Uganda Communications Commission/Broadcasting Council, Kampala. 2010–2011.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervised and oversaw the merger and operation of the two organizations.
  • As chairman of the finance and tender committee, reviewed annual Budgets and Management’s financial reports and made appropriate recommendations to the Interim board Commission for approval.
  • Developed and set up of tender and procurement policies.

System Integration Engineer, Bank of Uganda, Kampala. 2006-2007.

Responsibilities:

  • Second line support for all LAN faults.
  • Designed and integrated new technology.
  • Coordinated with third party on delivery and repair of equipment’s.

Lecturer, Uganda Institute of Information and Technology, Kampala. 2005–2006.

Responsibilities:

  • Presented lectures to first- and second-year students in communication and computer systems in the field of Telecommunication.
  • Designed and supervised student’s projects.

Head of Department, Department of Computer Studies, IUIU, Mbale. 2005.

  • Managing all the activities in the department – budgeting and lecture coordination.
  • Presented lectures in Database, programming and signal processing.

IT Consultant, Das Air Service, Entebbe. 2005.

Responsibilities:

  • As a consultant, I designed and supervised third party installation of wireless local area to several buildings in Entebbe.
  • Designed all IT related architectures.

Field Service Engineer, SITA, Entebbe. 1996–2003.

Responsibilities:

  • Performed installation of leased line for Airlines data communications.
  • Maximized customer satisfaction with the delivery of first-class onsite field repairs, installations and preventive maintenance. These equipment’s included printers, monitors, CPU’s, switches and Cisco routers.

Electrical Engineer, Uganda Railways, Kampala. 1995–1996.

Responsibilities:

  • Installed and maintained workshop electrical installation.
  • Serviced railway engines.

Technology Consults, Makerere University, Kampala. 1995–1996.

Responsibilities:

  • Headed the team that Surveyed and designed the proposed Street lighting for Kampala City.
  • Supervised country wide installation of radio communication system for Uganda Revenue Authority, as per the recommendation of my final year project at the university.

Teaching Assistant, Makerere University, Kampala 1994–1995.

Responsibilities:

  • Designed and conducted laboratory work in Electronics and communications for third- and fourth-year students in the department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Technology.

2003 – 2004: Communication and Signal Processing, Master of Science, University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom.

Passed with a Distinction degree:

  • Studies focused in Digital signal processing, communication systems and Radio wave engineering. My thesis was on Design of CDMA network.

1990 – 1994: Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Science, Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.

Obtained Second Class with Honors, Upper Division, degree:

  • Specialized in Electrical Engineering and computer system and my final year project were on the ‘Design of radio communication system – case study of Uganda Revenue Authority’.

1990: Advanced level, UNEB, St. Peters College, Tororo.

  • Obtained an A in Mathematics, B in Physics and C in Chemistry.

1985: Ordinary level, UNEB, Moroto High School, Moroto.

  • Passed with first grade.

Education

ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Version 3, 2012.

  • Acquired basic understanding of the ITIL framework and how it may be used to enhance the quality of IT service management within an organization. These included Service management as a practice, the ITIL service lifecycle, Key principles and models and technology and architecture.

  • Studies focused on project design, concepts, scheduling and reports.

A+ Certified Professional, 2002.

  • Gained proficiency in PC core hardware (Installation, configuration and Networking) and Operating systems Technologies (Operating system Fundamentals, installation, configuration and troubleshooting).
