Overview

Counsel Kaggwa Balisanyuka David is an accomplished Ugandan advocate with over two decades of experience in legal practice, academia, and land justice.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Uganda Christian University (1999–2003), an Ordinary Diploma in Law from the Law Development Centre

(1998–1999), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre (2003–2004).

Kaggwa began his career as a member of the District Land Tribunal (2001–2005), serving in Kalangala, Masaka, Sembabule, and Mpigi under the Judiciary programme of the Ministry of Lands.

In 2005, he was enrolled as an Advocate of the Judicature, joining Sewankambo, Mubiru, Mawanda & Co. Advocates in Kampala before establishing his own practice.

Kaggwa has founded and managed reputable firms, including Kaggwa-Balisanyuka & Co. Advocates, Kaggwa-Owoyesigire & Co. Advocates, and most recently, Kaggwa & Partners Co. Advocates.

Between 2006-2013, Counsel Kaggwa co-founded the Faculty of Law at Busoga University, serving as Assistant Lecturer, before joining Kampala International University as Lecturer and Head of the Diploma in Law Programme (2008–2018).

Currently, through Kaggwa & Partners Co. Advocates, he provides specialised legal services and consultancies across Uganda, with strong expertise in land, litigation, and advisory practice.
