I have over 20 years of diverse work experience, during which I have developed and sharpened the following technical and managerial skills:

  • Programme Management: I have extensive experience on diverse Programme cycle implementation management skills ensuring timely and quality attainment of deliverables with contingents of up to 100 people. My natural bias is towards a detailed style of management, coupled with mentoring and graduating into delegation. I’m also a confident decisionmaker.
  • General Management: I have extensive managerial experience in Team Leadership, work planning and budget, staff management, Logistics management, financial and administration supervision, partnership building and supervision, PR management and networking.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning and Research: I have strong M&E and research skills and ability to conduct Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning of complex programme and projects in diverse sectors.
  • Broad sector exposure: I have been involved in assessments, planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating programmes and projects in number of sectors.

November 2019 to date: Ministry of Education and Sports Uganda Karamoja School Feeding Programme Unit. Liaison Officer, Kampala Office.

Key achievements:

  • Charged with overall responsibility of ensuring that the Programme is coordinated and implementation enhanced at National, Sub National and Local Government levels:

February 2012 to October 2019: Private Sector Engagement. Chairperson Karamoja Sub Region Business Leaders Forum.

Key achievements:

  • Provided leadership and Team support to the Karamoja Business Leaders Forum and 7 District level Business Leaders Organizations; Carried out technical responsibilities including developing bi-laws, organizing Agriculture and Trade shows and cross boarders trade activities.

November 2005 to 2012: UN World Food Programme Uganda Country Office. Programme Officer and Head of Sub Office.

Key achievements:

  • Headed and provided Programme management services in the Kotido World Food Programme Sub Office covering Abim, Karenga, Kaabong and Kotido Districts; and Headed Mbarara World Food Programme Sub Office covering refugee settlements at Nakivale and Oruchinga in Isingiro, Kyaka I & II in Kyegegwa, Kyangwali in Kikube and Kiryandongo in Kiryandongo Districts.

April 2002 to October 2005: UN World Food Programme Uganda Country Office. Senior Programme Assistant, Moroto Sub Office.

Key achievements:

  • Provided overall management of UN WFP Uganda Country Office operations in Nakapiripirit District (July to October 05) and jointly with the Head of Sub Office based in Moroto, planned, designed and implemented UN WFP Programme in the Karamoja Region.

1st March 2001 to 30th March 2002: UN World Food Programme Uganda Country Office. Field Monitor Assistant, Moroto Sub Office.

Key achievements:

  • Provided extensive programme monitoring and reporting responsibilities; mobilized partners and stakeholders to embrace supported activities.

1st May 1999 to February 2001: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) funded Private Sector Development Programme Karamoja Private Sector Development Promotion Centre, Moroto Micro Finance Training Specialist.

Key achievements:

  • Spearheaded the implementation of the Microfinance programme of the Private Sector Development Programme in Karamoja.

7th February 1997 to 30th April 1999: United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) funded Kotido Community Based Development Programme, (KCDP) implemented by Church of Uganda, Karamoja Diocese. Project Supervisor.

Key achievements:

  • Provided leadership and management support towards delivery of community programme based on pillars of Planning, Allocation, Investment and Management Systems in the District and target Sub Counties.

1st January to June 1997: Lutheran World Federation, Department of World Service, Karamoja Development Programme. Coordinator, County Programmes.

Key achievements:

  • Headed and provided Programme Management services to the Programme based on community structures and network of field staff and partners.

1st July 1994 to 31st December 1996: Lutheran World Federation, Department of World Service, Karamoja Development Programme: Community Development Coordinator.

Key achievements:

  • As Head of Community Development Section managed Project cycle activities including Water and sanitation, Agriculture, rural technologies and relief support.

1st May 1994 to 30th June 1994: Church of Uganda Karamoja Diocese Development Office Church of Uganda Kotido Community Development Pilot Project Research Assistant.

1st September 1993 to 30th April 1994: The Commission for the Constituent Assembly (Electoral Commission) Kotido District (Now Abim, Kotido, Kaabong and Karenga Districts). Trainer and Supervisor of Civic Education. Generated first ever election register and identified points for polling stations.

July to October 1992: Kotido Catholic Diocese Social Services Department Researcher/Projects Officer (Vacation time). Collected and prepared reports on key aspects of Diocesan work.

Special Assignments Carried Out

February to April 2009: United Nations World Food Programme, Uganda Country Office Programme Officer/Head of Sub Office.

Key achievements:

  • Developed and implemented the framework, roadmap, work plan and budget to establish 3 new Sub Offices in Kaabong, Nakapiripirit and Abim in response to the expanded emergency response to the approved WFP Karamoja Operations Plan 2009.

October to December 2008: United Nations World Food Programme, Rome. Special Assignment to Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Faizabad Sub office International Programme Officer.

Key achievements:

  • As Head of Programme Unit in the Sub Office covering 45 Districts, took responsibility for planning, coordinating implementation, supervising over 80 staff, monitoring and reporting. This was done to satisfaction according to placement assessment report. Copy available on request.
