With 11 years after graduating with a master’s and doctorate degrees in bioethics, Dr. Mwakio is an experienced professional. A dedicated, focused, team player, time manager, flexible and ethics oriented attested by success, outcomes, capacity building and training attended and particularly on hospital ethics committees. As a lead faculty in bioethics courses, ability and leadership skills are demonstrated by the bioethicist with successful outcomes in the bioethics master’s and Post Graduate Programs. There are times when work and responsibilities are unexpected and working under pressure is a skill portrayed. Innovative and experienced in organizing webinars and workshops either online or in person.

  • Adjunct lecturer of bioethics Masters and Post Graduate Diploma programs at AMIU (AMREF International University) and MKU (Mount Kenya University), from 2023 to date.
  • Lecturer Our Lady of Assumption Medical Training College, Lang’ata Nairobi 2024.
  • Volunteer member of the Ethics Review Committee at the Coast General Training and Referral Hospital Mombasa, Kenya from 2022 to date
  • Pastoral experience as a Catholic priest for 20 years (2024) accomplishing projects such as church construction and administrative blocks of an academy between 2015-2022.

This was my first ever book publication which dealt with the many bioethical issues arising from the then new Kenyan Constitution. Many other policies, regulations and laws were not in place by then.
